Meghan Markle, who may be eyeing a political career in the near future, is urged to be prudent with her next move as the environment gets intense.

A former Congressman revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan’s public opinion or their presence may hurt their brand rather than help anyone in the process.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from their senior royal positions in 2020 and moved to US to build their separate lives, should not be taking sides in the “polarised” race for the White House, former Republican Congressman Charlie Dent told GB News.

“In a polarised country, it’s not always the smartest thing in the world to take sides if you’re trying to advance yourself on some cause when half the country thinks it’s unpopular or vehemently disagrees with it,” Dent explained.

He also added that most Americans don’t “sit up at night worrying what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have to say about American politics, or British politics for that matter.”

Meghan is currently in the midst of launching her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard and will also be releasing an accompanying cooking show on Netflix.

Given that the former Suits actress would need good PR and connections to promote her label, Dent advised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to “be somewhat circumspect.”

He said, “I was just over in the UK a couple of weeks ago, it doesn’t sound like they’re particularly popular over there and I don’t know if they want to do things that would make them unpopular over here.”

Meghan was already hit with a setback amid her brand launch as she was issued notice of “irregularities” which need to be “corrected” regarding ARO’s trademark, four months after it was requested to register it to the US Patents and Trademarks Office, via Daily Mail.
