Another AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll is out.

It’s clear teams are settling into the 2024-25 season and starting to prove — or disprove — the preseason hype.

Kansas remains No. 1 for a third consecutive poll, but Alabama fell all the way to No. 8 after losing to Purdue on Saturday. The Boilermakers, for their part, jumped up seven spots to No. 6. Ahead of them, rounding out the top five, are UConn, Gonzaga, Auburn and Iowa State. Kentucky was another team that saw a massive jump, going from No. 19 to No. 9 after a major win against Duke in the Champions Classic.

The poll also had two newcomers from the Big Ten: Wisconsin, after defeating Arizona 103-88, debuts at No. 19. Illinois, which is 3-0 to start the season, replaces Ole Miss at No. 25.

Let’s take a look at the top 25 teams of Week 2 of 2024-25, how they got there and what’s coming up next for each team.
