Japan’s apparel imports rise 5% to $2.3 bn in October 2024

In October 2024, Japan’s apparel imports rose 5 per cent to $2.3 billion, comprising 3.7 per cent of total imports.
Textile yarn and fabric imports fell 1.1 per cent, while exports rose 4 per cent.
During April-September 2024, apparel imports grew 3.5 per cent, while textile machinery exports dropped 25 per cent.
Fiscal 2023-24 saw declines in both clothing and textile imports.
