Scarlett Johansson finds freedom at 40: ‘You stop caring what people think’

Scarlett Johansson, who turned 40 this year, admitted she has never felt more liberated.

In a recent appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna and Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday, the actress opened up about reaching the milestone on November 22.

“Well, it’s only been three days, but so far, it’s great,” she said.

“You also don’t care what anybody thinks, which is so liberating,” Johansson told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “It’s so liberating!”

While giving insights into her surprise birthday bash thrown by her husband of four years, Colin Jost, she noted, “He threw me a humungous bash this year.”

“It was a surprise. And I had all the martinis for everyone and I can’t wait to see the photos so I can remember the night. We had a big party. It was like a ‘this is your life’ — it was surreal. I’m still processing it, actually.”

“It was really wonderful to see everybody that I loved all together loving each other. It was so fun,” she gushed. “He’s very good at gift-giving. He always buys beautiful jewelry.”
