Aaron Carter’s sister opens up about brother’s death: ‘I saw it coming’

Aaron Carter’s twin sister, Angel Carter, has made a shocking revelation that she had been preparing herself for her brother’s tragic death for nearly a decade.

In a candid conversation on the Squeeze podcast, Angel shared her thoughts on Aaron’s passing, stating, “What’s so interesting about Leslie’s passing – she passed away when I was 23 – her death completely blindsided me. I didn’t see that one coming.”

Angel revealed that she wasn’t as surprised by Aaron’s death in November 2022, following an accidental fall and substance use, as she was by their older sister Leslie’s overdose in 2012.

Unveiling her long-held fears, she added: “When she died, I was already in therapy preparing for Aaron’s death. I thought he was going to die. I feared it my entire 20s. I knew this day was going to come and I think he knew it too.”

Angel described how Aaron’s addiction frequently caused him to push her away, despite her attempts to assist.

She recalled with horror how, in 2019, Aaron—who also enjoyed success with the song I Want Candy—started hoarding firearms and unsettlingly admitted to considering harming newborns during an allegedly psychotic episode.

Because of Aaron’s concerning behaviour, Angel, now 36, and their older brother Nick Carter filed for a restraining order against him, which led to the seizure of his guns. She said, crying, “I had to protect him from himself.”

Angel explained that Aaron’s sad demise was due to the abuse and coercion he endured from those in his immediate vicinity who “used him” during his career, which began when he was only nine years old.

She lamented: “I couldn’t save him. It wasn’t my responsibility to save him but I tried.”

Angel said that the Fool’s Gold crooner was the “breadwinner” of the family and that his notoriety and wealth were the reason behind their parents’ 2003 divorce. “He thought the success destroyed the family,” she disclosed.

After his parents’ divorce, Aaron began experimenting with marijuana at an early age and moved on to more potent substances at the age of twelve. Aaron had several rehab trips before his death.

Angel disclosed: “He was experimenting with ecstasy and huffing duster cans.”

Still, she said that she didn’t find out about Aaron’s adult involvement with the “bad stuff” until “years later”.
