As per the astrologer, maintaining cleanliness has a significant importance in Chhath Puja.

Chhath Puja is being observed from November 5-7.

Chhath Puja, one of the important festivals of Hinduism, is widely celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and parts of West Bengal. In this festival, the devotees worship the Surya Dev, and his sister Shashti Devi, who is also known as Chhathi Maiya, during this festival.

During this festival, the devotees are also expected to follow some rules. Astrologer Rishikant Mishra Shastri has talked about those rules in an interview with the News 18 Hindi. Chhath Puja will be celebrated from November 5 to November 7.

1. Maintain cleanliness: As per the astrologer Shastri, maintaining cleanliness has a significant importance in Chhath Puja. Therefore, the spot where Chhath Puja Prasad is prepared should be kept neat. In addition to this, the prasad should not be cooked with unclean hands. Also, it is better not to make the prasad at the place, where food is cooked in the home.

2. Avoid Non-Vegetarian food: Cooking non-vegetarian food at home during the fasting period is not allowed according to traditional practices. Believers should also avoid consuming onion and garlic during this period.

3. Keep children away from puja samagri: On the day of Chhath Puja, people should ensure that children do not touch any puja samagri without washing their hands. If they do so, then that particular item should not be used again. Children insist on eating the Prasad but ensure that they should not be able to eat it until the Chhath Puja is over.

4. Avoid negative vibes: The believers should also abstain from using abusive and uncouth language during Chhath Puja. They should also not fight with anyone on all four days of the fast. If someone is fighting, then the devotees should step back from that place. The devotees have to keep their minds calm during the Chhath Puja festivities and filled with maximum positive energy.

5. Plan a balanced diet: Before beginning the fast, devotees should plan a balanced diet that comprises all the essential nutrients to keep them energetic throughout the day. They should concentrate on eating food rich in vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates.

6. Stay Hydrated: Dehydration due to fasting can lead to dizziness and fatigue. Hence, it is important to consume an ample amount of water, juice, or coconut water to maintain the body’s fluid balance.
