Demi Lovato has recently discussed about struggles with fame as a young star in the trailer for Hulu’s documentary, Child Star.
“There definitely is not a manual on how to navigate this industry at such a young age,” said the 32-year-old in the documentary’s trailer which was released on September 5.
The teaser features footage of Demi, Drew Barrymore, JoJo Siwa, Kenan Thompson, Raven Symone, Christina Ricci and Alyson Stoner from past and present, as they open up about trauma of becoming famous at a young age.
“Everyone wanted to make it in the industry at a young age,” remarked the director and actress.
In the clip, the celebs share their experience with substances, financial troubles and dating their co-stars.
Demi also talked about the challenges this new generation of kids are facing because of social media.
“It just scares me to hear that these kids are making tens of millions of dollars. There have to be protections put in place,” explained the Heart Attack crooner in a teaser.
In the end, Demi added, “I wouldn’t end up where I am had I not made all the choices leading up to this point, but it came at a price.”
Earlier in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Demi revealed she won’t let her child enter the entertainment industry until she becomes an adult.
She mentioned, “Let’s study music theory and prepare you for the day you turn 18, because it’s not happening before that.”
“Not because I don’t believe in you or love you or want you to be happy, but because I want you to have a childhood, the childhood that I didn’t have,’” shared the songstress.
