Prince Andrew is reaping what he has sown after his antics ruined Christmas celebrations for the members of the Royal family following a difficult year.
As per latest reports, the “disgraced” Duke of York will not join the Royal family members at Sandringham for this year’s annual Christmas celebrations.
Sharing his two cents on the matter, royal expert Cameron Walker told GB News that Andrew’s latest scandal regarding his involvement with Chinese spy has overshadowed the Royal family’s festive appearances.
This year’s Christmas is said to be very special for Royal family members, especially King Charles and Kate Middleton, who have had a tough year with their respective battles with cancer.
Speaking of Andrew skipping the holiday festivities, Walker said, “The problem is when there’s a scandal involving a member of the Royal Family, and in particular Prince Andrew, it does have a bit of a knock on effect to other members of the Royal Family.”
“This morning, when all the front pages were dominated by Andrew and this alleged spy scandal, it completely overshadowed all the work that the other working royals were doing, such as nice Christmassy things,” he added.
The expert continued: “Of course, it’s been a very tough year for the Royal Family with various health battles, and Christmas would have been a time that the walk to church would have been a time for reflection and also just celebrating the fact that they could all be together.
“So we understand that Sarah and Prince Andrew will be staying in Windsor at Royal Lodge.
“From a Royal Family perspective, they’re going to be hoping there’s going to be no more distractions for them in the run up to this Christmas period.
“But of course, it’s just another embarrassment for Prince Andrew having to step out of the spotlight, something he clearly loved, being a working royal, because of perhaps his poor judgment.”
