Robert Pattinson bashes fans for hating ‘Twilight’ for almost 20 years

Robert Pattinson has clapped back to feedback of fans for his movie which was released almost two decades ago.

In a recent translated interview with GQ Spain, he candidly talked about fans’ reaction on the Twilight series.

“I love that people keep telling me, ‘Man, ‘Twilight’ ruined the vampire genre,’” the Hollywood actor began by saying.

Reflecting upon his first Twilight movie, which was released in 2008, Pattinson continued, “Are you still stuck on that s***?”

“How can you be sad about something that happened almost 20 years ago? It’s crazy.”

Twilight is an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novel which was about a teenage girl named Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, who had fallen for a vampire, Edward Cullen, which portrayed by Pattinson.

Previously, the 38-year-old actor discussed his efforts for the movie and told the outlet, “I wanted to make it as arty as possible.”

“We had this strange tension where the studio was scared to make things a little bit too emo and stuff. I thought that was the only way to play it.”

“I spent so much time [on set] infuriated… I can’t believe the way I was acting half the time.”

Before concluding, Pattinson recalled when a manager of the movie appreciated him for smiling and said, “You’ll be fired by the end of the day if you don’t stop doing what you’re doing.”

For those unversed, the fantasy movie series grossed over $3.30 billion worldwide.
