Storm Reid shares whether she is returning to work in ‘Euphoria’ season 3

Storm Reid is excited for Euphoria season three, but she has a heartbreaking news to share before the new season’s premiere.

In a recent conversation with Rotten Tomatoes, the actress who played Gia Bennett, the younger sister of Zendaya’s lead character Rue, revealed that she will not be returning for the third season of the hit HBO drama, nearly three years after the network renewed it.

“I’m very excited for season three,” she told the review-aggregation site on the November 17 red carpet at the Governors Awards. “Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning for the third season, but I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, and to HBO.”

Though Reid, 21, confirmed she won’t be returning to the much-popular series, she emphasised how special Euphoria remains to her.

Euphoria is a really special thing, and I’m so glad that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon,” she said. “I’m forever grateful — forever indebted — and I can’t wait to see what season three has in store.”

Reid emphasized that she will always treasure the experience of working alongside the stellar cast.

Euphoria made its HBO debut in June 2019, with its second season released in January 2022 after two standalone specials.

A month later, it was renewed for a third season, and in July 2024, HBO announced that filming is slated to begin in early 2025.
