The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) mandates that banks are closed on all second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays and that they are usually open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of a month, if any. Since many working people save their bank-related tasks for Saturdays, they should confirm if Saturday is a working day before going to the branch.
Will Banks Be Open or Closed Tomorrow, January 18, 2025?
Since this Saturday, January 18 is the third Saturday of the month, banks will operate as normal. Unless otherwise noted in the RBI’s holiday schedule, banks are sometimes open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays.
Banks will be closed nationwide on national holidays including October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), August 15 (Independence Day), and January 26 (Republic Day). It is important to note that states have their regional holidays. Every state has its unique holidays, such as Maharashtra Day, Bihar Day, and Karnataka Rajyotsava.

In addition to the weekend holidays, there will be another official bank holiday in January 2025. Due to the general elections for municipal local bodies and the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose/Vir Surendrasai Jayanti, banks will not be open on Thursday, January 23.
